Liberty! + new online store

Posted on September 12, 2008

Hey folks,

Just a quick post today to announce that our second album - Liberty - is available now in our brand new online store! The album is our first with our new lineup and the CD version features original hand-painted artwork for the covers and inside panels by ArKar, as well as Graff art by Eustinlove.  And the songs are pretty darn cool too, in my totally unbiased opinion.

You can also order CD’s of ‘Weapon of the Future”, T-Shirts, & bumper stickers.

In other news:

It’s almost time for KVMR!  We’re all practicisng and working hard to get a couple new songs ready in time and are looking forward to the event.  If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?

We’ve also started booking shows for a through central and southern California for late January.    We’re going to be focusing on college towns down the coast and are looking to set up as many on-campus gigs as possible.  More on that as it develops!  And, of course, we’re busy sending off press packs to festivals all over the west coast for next year, so if you know a good one we should apply too, hit us up!

Also - look out for a couple more music videos in the coming weeks - Humanimal did a great new video for the title track from our new album and Laura has almost finished a brand new animated video for “None of the Above”.  With a little luck we’ll have both of those ready for ya’ll before we leave for KVMR.

As for our east coast tour: with the sole exception of the Brooklyn show @ Public Assembly which was marred by frustrations with the venue (if you’re a band in or going to NYC I’d recomend NOT booking a show there) the tour was a great success.  We played a bunch of great shows at a bunch of great venues for a lot of great people.  It was awesome.  Huge shout outs to Cozy T  who went above and beyond booking all that for us and also thank-you’s to Becky, Sarah, and Deb for letting us borrow their husbands for 2 weeks, to Matt, Jeremiah,  & John for letting us crash with them,  and -  of course - to all the folks who came out to the shows, bought CD’s, and made the tour a success.   Good times!

That about wraps it up, we’ll see ya’ll at the shows!

2 steps forward for every step back

Posted on August 13, 2008

Hey folks!

Liberty is finished!  We sent the files to the printer tuesday morning after a slight delay and should be ready by the end of the week.   We’ll have copies available at all the shows on our trip and will be putting up an online store on this site to sell both physical copies and downloads when we get back.   We also plan to make the mp3s available over iTunes and all the other big online music vendors.

Last minute preparations for the trip are coming along pretty well.  The show at the Loft in PA got canceled because one of the venues co-owners robbed the place blind and they had to shut down, which sucks.  So that’s one step back.  Fortunately we’ve got two more steps forward in the form of 2 new shows, one in Manhattan and the other in Philladelphia.  Our updated show list for the tour is:

Aug 21 2008 8:00PM
Puck’s in Doylestown, Pennsylvania

Aug 23 2008 10:00PM
Celtic Collision @ PUBLIC ASSEMBLY(formerly Galapagos) in Brooklyn (Williamsburg), New York

Aug. 25th 10:00PM
Tritone (http://www.tritonebar.com/) in Philadelphia, Pensyvania.

Aug 28 2008 8:00PM
CherryWood Bar & Grill Clementon, New Jersey

Aug 29 2008 12:00A
The Underscore in Manhattan, New York, New York

Aug 30 2008 8:00P
Barrington Coffee House and Cafe Barrington, New Jersey

Aug 31 2008 4:00P
COHENFEST (Private Show) CAPE MAY, New Jersey

As before, we really need to move pre-sale tickets for the show at Puck to keep the venue happy, so if you’re planning to come it’d be awesome if you could buy a few and get a group of friends to come with ya. Obviously we’re not in our home turf here and need all the help we can get getting the word out for all of these shows, so anything ya’ll can do to get folks out to the shows would be greatly appreciated.

And, for all our folks here on the west coast, I should mention that KVMR has started selling tickets for their annual festival in September and that if you buy ‘em early you can get a big fat discount. It’s 2 days of music and fun that you wont forget in a hurry, with some of the best celtic bands in north america playing - including Solas, Enter the Haggis, Molly’s Revenge, and a bunch more.   You can get your tickets at: http://www.kvmr.org/celticfestival/tickets.htm

Also, you may have noticed our website ahs been updated with the new album art - big ups to ArKar who did the paintings for us and EustinLove who did the graff art for the CD face! - and both our website and myspace feature streaming versions of several of the new tracks.  So check those out if you haven’t already.

See ya’ll at the shows,

Beltaine’s Fire

Hey folks!

We’ve pretty much finalized our east coast tour stops and all that’s left to do is put the finishing touches on the new album before we leave. “Liberty” Is due to be finished by the 14th of august and we’ll have copies available at all our shows.

Here’s our up to date show list - and for everyone who isn’t on the east-coast we’d really appreciate it if you forwarded this info to your friends and family back east. In specific, we really need to move the presale tickets for the show @ Puck’s in PA since it’s our only show with presale.

Puck’s bills itself as “Studio quality sound, Live.” and from everything we’ve heard they live up to that boast. This is probably the best-sounding venue we’re going to play in on the trip,. so you’re in for a treat. We’d really really like to sell this one out, so don’t wait till night-of to get your tickets. You can get pre-sale tickets online at Ticketweb.

This is our first east-coast show, and Lynx’s first time performing in PA since the 2001 anti-war mobilization against the invasion of Iraq.

Saturday August, 23 2008 “Celtic Collision” @ PUBLIC ASSEMBLY (Formerly Galapagos)
70 North 6th Street, Brooklyn (Williamsburg), New York 11211
